Summertime Update and Family Mini Sessions!
Happy Summer 2025!
I hope you’re squeezing every last drop out of it! We sure are - and it’s been a full season of milestones and adventures over here!
Now that Trinity Lane Photography is my main gig, I’ve been investing in ways to grow and refine my business. I recently took an incredible virtual class from a photographer in Indiana whose work I’ve admired for years. She not only creates beautiful images but has built a thriving business that supports her family of six! Her teaching really challenged me to rethink my own business model and make some changes that I’m really excited about.
Here’s the biggest face palm from my class ….“Why are you only focused on newborn and milestone photography. People aren’t going to have babies forever, and you have to continually get NEW clients. You need to expand your offering.”
So …. in true A+ student fashion, I’m excited to share that family photography is officially back in my lineup! Styles have shifted in the past few years, and I’m loving the relaxed, lifestyle vibe of today’s family sessions. It feels less like “taking pictures” and more like we’re just hanging out together.
✨ I’m holding Family Mini Sessions August 13–15 and spots are limited, so grab yours, and please share this opportunity with a friend!
On top of that, I’ve also been doing Fresh 48 Sessions (and I’m obsessed!). During my rebuilding season here in Central Oregon, I photographed newborns at St. Charles Hospital for Bella Baby Photography. There’s something magical about capturing those first few hours - new parents figuring out diapers, onesies, and all the sweet, raw emotions of the birthing unit (including my own!). I can’t wait to do more of these sessions!
And because all the behind-the-scenes “business-y” stuff isn’t my favorite, I’m thrilled to have roped in my cousin (and BFF), Alicia, to help with office management, social media, and everything else that keeps me away from my camera. She’s amazing, and I can’t wait for you to meet her! (Here a recent pic of us after we’ve been sitting on her deck, enjoying the view, and “working” away! *wink).
SUMMER 2025 HIGHLIGHTS
🌿 John took me on a trip to Magnolia for Valentine’s Day (and yes, their Annual Tent Sale). And he didn’t complain once during the hours I spent browsing. Not even when I drug him back a second day!
🎓 Our kiddo #7 turned 18 and graduated high school! We celebrated with the whole tribe for the weekend and then took Judson on a 10-day RV adventure through the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone - so much fishing and so many memories. (Friend me up on IG at @ziehls for a sweet video recap of Judson from newborn to 18, and feel free to laugh at my “41 and starting over with a newborn” face).
📷 I’ve upgraded to a new Client Management System! From booking to gallery delivery, the whole experience is now even smoother and more polished. You’ll get a peek at it if you book one of the August Family Minis.
🚐 We’ve logged plenty of RV camping this summer, and there’s more on the calendar. I even treated myself to a traveling Wacom tablet so I can edit photos on the road - with coffee in hand and the sunrise outside my window. Sometimes we’re just down the road in Sisters, but ssshhhhhh don’t tell the kids.
🏡 And big news: our new studio + shop is underway! I’m planning to host a little look-see in early November (with Christmas Mini Sessions too!). I can’t wait for you to see it! All that Magnolia shopping is going to pay off!
Sending you all my love and a big hug. If you’ve read this far, you’re not just a client—you’re truly a friend. ❤️
